Good material use starts before the first cut. We use ALPHACAM to program CNC operations and arrange parts in tight nests, making the most of the available sheet. Part spacing, cutter clearance, grain direction and workholding guide the layout so efficient material use supports a practical machining process.

How does tight nesting improve sheet yield?
Nesting arranges parts within the usable sheet area to reduce unused gaps and offcuts. We aim for tight layouts while allowing for the cutter, material and workholding. The achievable yield depends on part shapes, quantities, sheet size and any grain direction requirements.
